Swimming the English was a long-term ambition and it was a chance meeting with Dizz Verth at the Brownsea Island swim 2015 that it started to become a reality when she prompted me to Facebook friend request ‘Durley Sea Swims’. It was here how I learnt about Channel Swimming then fast forward 2yrs until I’m standing on a beach at Dover. Written by Jon Tribbeck (Coldwet Bloke) A fantastic swim by Ashley Christopher! England to France in 13 hours 40 minutes in difficult conditions on 1st August 2017. It was a real pleasure and a privilege to be part of the crew on his solo English Channel Swim. Ashley’s weather window was a short one and after receiving the call from pilot Stuart Gleeson we set off for Dover at around midnight. Track Ashley’s Channel Swim

Track Ashley’s progress across the English Channel. The two main organisations that validate Channel swims both have live trackers on their websites. Ashley’s support boat is Sea Leopard, piloted by Stuart Gleeson.
